Arvind Kejriwal may face fourth process from ED In the excise policy case.
After probing the Delhi CM, Arvind Kejriwal’s denial of appearing before the agency in the contended excise policy case, the ED may issue a fourth process to him.
Arvind Kejriwal stated that he wouldn’t appear before the ED for the third time on Wednesday, asserting that the agency’s rule of non-public and non-responsive entry cannot uphold fairness or justice and lacks the authority of the ED. This statement presumes the roles of a judge, jury, and executioner. Also said that the Enforcement Directorate is’ unfairly targeting’ him in the excise policy case.
presently, the Anti Money Laundering agency is conducting an disquisition into the responses handed by Kejriwal history regarding five process issued to him.
According to the reports of the PMLA( Prevention of Money Laundering Act), the agency may issue a fourth process to Kejriwal.
The Aam Aadmi Party( AAP) had claimed on November 2, December 21, 2023, and January 3 this time that their convener might be arrested.
AAP leaders contended that the ED could arrest Kejriwal’s hearthstone by fabricating charges of corruption. The AAP party had also raised questions about the timing of the Lok Sabha choices in 2024.
The security around Kejriwal’s hearthstone has been tensed amid implicit allegations of impending arrest.
Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party( BJP) has indicted Kejriwal of trying to’ escape’ the disquisition.
Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva said,’ AAP leaders are raising their voices that their CM can be arrested if he’s unhappy. they’ve committed theft and corruption, and now they’re creating a fuss.”
BJP’s Bansuri Swaraj said that Kejriwal forgets that he’s not above the law. The ED has issued three process, but the Chief Minister is escaping. He’s not willing to be included in the disquisition,
The allegation is that under the Delhi government’s excise policy for 2021- 22, cartelization was allowed by approving licenses for liquor dealers, and some dealers were allegedly favoured by giving them purportedly launched for them, which AAP constantly denied.
This policy was latterly abandoned, and the Left Lieutenant Governor of Delhi conducted an inspection, leading to the ED registering a case under the PMLA.
